Preventative versus Restorative Dental Care

Restorative dental care takes care of problems that are already occurring with your teeth or mouth such as cavities, broken or chipped teeth, and infections. Preventative care aims to keep these types of things from happening. This is done in part by you with regular brushing and flossing and in part by your dentist with twice annual cleanings, fluoride treatments, X-rays and more.

Dr. Paul Ellzey was born and raised in Louisiana. He graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree.   After college, Dr. Ellzey received his dental training at Marquette University School of Dentistry, one of the nation’s oldest schools of dentistry founded in 1894. Earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree, Dr. Ellzey began his dental practice in Alabama 27 years ago, with the last 18 years at his Prattville dental office.
